🌱 **Campus Beautification Day** was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who showed up and volunteered today—from students, faculty and staff to alumni and community members of all ages. You all came together to transform our Broward College Central Campus one shovel at a time. From painting birdhouses, pots, and decorative rocks, to installing native plants and laying mulch in our butterfly garden, everyone rolled up their sleeves and put their Seahawk pride on full display! 💙 This event, which wrapped up our inaugural **Philanthropy Week**, was the perfect way to celebrate Broward College’s 64th anniversary and give back to the community.Here are a couple of photos from today’s memorable event. It’s hard to describe what we saw during Broward College Foundation’s first-ever Philanthropy week on our Central, North, and South campuses. Over the course of these three Thank a Donor days, 181 mostly first-time student donors made a gift. This remarkable achievement was driven by the dynamic outreach of our Student Government Association representatives across Central, North, and South Campuses.Our newest student-philanthropists are the heroes of a new story - the story of their own philanthropic journey. They have just discovered the joy of giving back, and their journey is just beginning. 🌟 We’re wrapping up Philanthropy Week with BC Cares Day at Central Campus tomorrow, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.! Join students, faculty, staff, and alumni for a campus beautification project and show off your Seahawk pride! 🦅Enjoy swag, snacks, and treats, and you may also bring an item to support the Seahawk Marketplace, our on-campus pantry that provides free food and personal hygiene items to Broward College students. The mission of the Seahawk Marketplace is to reduce hunger and hardship by offering access to essentials and promoting healthy lifestyle choices. 🌟 Today at South Campus, we honored **Philanthropy Week** by recognizing our faculty and staff donors, as well as the nearly 40 students who took their first step towards becoming philanthropists at Broward College - some students even stopped by to donate twice! The 🔑 takeaway for these students is that it’s not about how much you give, but understanding that even small acts of generosity can help create opportunities for others to complete their education, just as they are working towards theirs. The donations raised throughout #PhilanthropyWeek will go toward scholarships, allowing students to proudly say they’ve helped make others' dreams come true! 🎓 #BCProud
